Don't Quit Too Late.

In Switzerland, 1 day late = 1 month extra work. Use this calculator to find your safe "Drop Dead" resignation date.

When Do I Need To Quit?

Swiss contracts strictly align with month-ends. Don't miss the deadline.

Ready to leave?

Once you know your date, you need to write the letter. Swiss resignation letters are formal and brief. Don't write an essay.

The "End of Month" Rule

Most Swiss contracts (based on Code of Obligations Art. 335c) state that notice periods must align with the end of a calendar month.

  • Wrong: Resigning on Jan 15th to leave April 15th.
  • Right: Resigning by Jan 31st to leave April 30th.

If your letter arrives Feb 1st, your notice period doesn't start until March 1st. You just lost a month.
